It was a good experience. And there was no pain while donating blood
Sankalp continued to organize regular blood drive as part of summer and this time it was turn of LOGICA. A Sankalp website user was approached and invited to organize a drive and he diverted us to the admin department of the company. After continued discussions, Sankalp organized its 1st blood Drive at LOGICA.
The planning for the camp started couple of weeks in advance .Sankalp Volunteers visited the camp location to see if there was sufficient ventilation and infrastructure to organize the drive. After this the camp date was fixed and awareness programme was started.
As part of the awareness programme, E mails were sent to employees with all relevant information related to blood donation attached. Constant reminders were also sent to employees to ensure high participation. The Mail also had links to FAQ’s and all other information related to Blood Donation.
The expectation from the drive was 180 units which was the number from the last drive organized at LOGICA and considering the importance of blood distribution to blood banks and blood banks feasibility, Sankalp invited two blood banks namely Nimhans blood Bank and Rashtrottana blood bank for the drive
The drive was scheduled to be organized from 10 30 AM to 5 PM Donors. The drive went on smoothly for the entire day with the response being very good. More than 300 registrations and 288 donations were made and the reason for the good response was the enthusiasm shown by the admin team to spread awareness and also enthusiasm shown by employees not only to donate blood but to motivate and encourage their colleagues in coming forward. All employees were very happy with the way the drive was organized and this resulted in positive feedback sent across the organization.
The company has accepted to continue it support to the cause and organize regular blood drives going ahead.
